Choosing a holiday rental in Dénia also means choosing the landscape you want nearby: sandy horizons, the working harbour, historic streets or the outline of Montgó.
Les Marines and Les Rotes: two ways to meet the sea
North of the centre, Les Marines opens onto long sandy beaches and dune landscapes. Southwards, Marineta Cassiana leads into rocky coves and a coastal path beside the water.
You do not have to choose one coast for the whole trip. See the practical differences in our guide to Dénia beaches and coves.
The harbour and Baix la Mar, close to the water
Baix la Mar grew between the harbour and the castle walls. Its narrow pedestrian lanes, low colourful houses and small squares reward a slow walk and a closer look.
From the waterfront, continue along Explanada Cervantes towards the centre. The port is part of everyday Dénia, not just a view for photographs. Read more about the harbour and historic centre.
Historic streets and everyday life
The old town gathers streets such as Loreto, Cavallers, Major and Sant Josep. From Plaça de la Constitució, head towards the castle and then along Marqués de Campo, the commercial spine linking town and port.
Allow time for a terrace or a market stop. Official opening times and access can change, so check before visiting the castle.
Montgó on the horizon
Montgó Natural Park rises beside the sea and shapes the Marina Alta landscape. Its outline appears from the harbour, the coast and many streets across Dénia.
If you plan a hike, check current official route and weather advice first. Trails vary in length and difficulty; the mountain can also be enjoyed from town as a backdrop to a beach day.
See our Montgó planning guide before setting out.
A town to taste as well
The market, seafood and seasonal Mediterranean cooking are part of Dénia's identity. A walk through town can end around a table, with rice dishes, fish and local produce.
